Town Centre Master Plan – Terminus Street Precinct

TOWN CENTRE MASTER PLAN
TERMINUS STREET PRECINCT
CASTLE HILL NSW

Castle Hill Town Centre was accorded Major Centre status within the Sydney Metropolitan Strategy. A planned metro station and bus interchange was due to be delivered by 2014. OLSSON in association with a wider team including Hill PDA were engaged by Council to develop a Concept Master plan in preparation for the future transport interchange, relocation of Council facilities, and the anticipated uplift.

The master plan has resulted in a series public domain improvements, utilising an existing council carpark to accommodate a new town square and new streets . The proposal also included relocating The Hills Shire Council offices and a new cultural centre to the site to further activate the area. The development yields and building heights were based on a combination of sound urban design principles and land economics. The result has been a robust and resilient masterplan for the area.

Following Council’s adoption of the Concept Master plan, OLSSON were engaged to prepare detailed development controls to further support and guide development for the Town Centre. These have been included within the DCP which currently applies to the area.
